Today let me inspire you to the point where your heart skips a beat...Beautiful staircases!

so perfectly designed...

in the most gorgeous of colours...

I so love the soft colours of this staircase...simply stunning!

and this...well this is grandeur and then some...

and this is what fairytales are made of...simply breathtaking...the detail is exquisite!

and then there's the beautiful stairs from Tracey from porchlight interiors...wow!!!! how beautiful do those colours mix together to highlight the gorgeousness that is those stairs! love love love it!!!

ahhh...it's officially summer.

yes, i know i mentioned that on friday, but with three kids, it's kinda a big deal.

no homework. no driving kids to and from school. no waking up at the crack of dawn. no emergency drives to the school for lunch money/forgotten gym clothes/missing homework/lost permission slips.

i really like summer!

one thing i am am looking forward to, besides spending more time with my kids, is eating outside. during the summer months, we eat outside as often as possible. (a much less humid and bug-fillled feat in the west than in the south!)
here are some outdoor spaces that make me want to spend the entire day outside...

casual, chic, traditional and streamlined.

LOVE.

*are you kidding me?

i could hang out here all day. ALL day.

i really love the large pot here. and that retaining wall is really beautiful.

*gorgeous.

i might be a little too practical for a gravel patio, but i love the way this looks anyway.

(i want to walk outside barefoot and curl up with a magazine and a glass of lemonade...gravel

patios would wart my toesies!)

how great would it be to eat here??

this one is perfection.

i love the huge impact of this rather small space. it feels so private and cozy,

and ulta-elegant.

love this one too. the wicker furniture is gorgeous paired with the stone floors and vine covered pergola.

love the details in this *simple pool cabana.

ahh. brick pavers and potted boxwood. right up my ally!

rustic elegance.

gorgeous herringbone pattern on the brick patio.

yeah, i know. this is definitely leaning towards the "elegance"....

totally in love this this as well. the outsdoor fireplace acts as a sculptural element, and the

entire scene is so inviting.

MAKE AN ENTRANCE!

When I first saw this entrance it literally took my breath away...it had me with it's beautiful blue tones mixed with striking black, crisp white and a hint of green foliage...definitely a favourite!

and this...well this is just perfection, so elegantly designed with a mix of black, white and silver that spells opulence and grandeur!

so fresh and inviting...

beautiful warm timber floors mixed with gorgeous shades of green highlights a beautiful entrance...

I'm so loving the cupboard...a gorgeous statement piece!

love the gorgeous tiles mixed with the soft muted greys and crisp whites...the choice of chandelier and position is perfection!

and this...well this has been an all time favourite due to it's superb colour scheme of rich timber floors and shades of gorgeous blue to set my heart a flutter...so which entrance is your favourite? these have so inspired me to redesign mine...wishing you all a wonderful afternoon xx images via tumblr

MY NEW ADDITION TO THE FAMILY...

It seems I have been missing something in my life of late and it just so happens that this is it! When I first laid eyes on this gorgeous beauty in the beautiful store that is French and English I was smitten! and then Home Beautiful showcased her in The gorgeous Emily Jade's Home [march issue] which made me love her even more and now after wishing for her for mothers day and my birthday it seems I have finally succumbed to temptation and purchased her myself and now I eagerly await her arrival into our family...she will be a much loved addition! ps: {I know she's just a chair but I love her all the same}...and now to thoughts of what colour cushions to add...hmmm? I'm thinking glamour ladies...sparkles and jewels...any ideas? Wishing you all a Lovely day xx image via French and English
